A mid-sized life sciences company relied entirely on a US-based cloud provider for document storage, including sensitive research data and quality documentation. We set up a self-hosted storage solution with ZFS-based redundancy, automated backups, and encrypted off-site replication. The company now has full control over their data, with no third-party access and full GDPR compliance.
